Dr. Linda Petzold is currently Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science, and Director of the Computational Science and Engineering Graduate Emphasis at the University of California Santa Barbara. She received her B.A. in Mathematics/Computer Science in 1974, and her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1978, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Petzold is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Her research focuses on modeling, simulation and analysis of multi-scale systems in systems biology and engineering.
